2-Day Chair Workshop Choreography Routine to "Dirty Diana"

Day 1: Foundation & Movement Exploration

Warm-up & Introduction (15 minutes)

  • Gentle stretches focusing on hips, spine, shoulders.

  • Basic chair-sitting and standing balance exercises.

Movement Basics (30 minutes)

  • Introduce chair as a prop: sitting, standing, leaning.

  • Explore body isolations to the beat of “Dirty Diana”.

  • Practice sharp, edgy arm and hand gestures reflecting the song’s attitude.

Routine Segment 1 (30 minutes)

  • Choreograph the intro and first verse combining chair spins, hip rolls, and strong poses.

  • Emphasize control and fluid transitions between sitting and standing.

Cool Down & Reflection (15 minutes)

  • Stretch and discuss the sensation of moving with and around the chair.

  • Participants share initial thoughts on the routine.

Day 2: Expansion & Performance Dynamics

Warm-up & Recap (15 minutes)

  • Full-body stretches with dynamic chair grips.

  • Review Day 1 choreography segment.

Routine Segment 2 & 3 (45 minutes)

  • Add choreography for chorus and bridge: incorporating floor work using the chair, dramatic pauses, and facial expressions reflecting the intensity of “Dirty Diana”.

  • Teach coordinated group sequences, if applicable, highlighting synchronization and stage presence.

Run-through & Polishing (30 minutes)

  • Practice full routine from start to finish multiple times.

  • Focus on musicality, energy, and storytelling through movement and expression.

Final Performance & Feedback (30 minutes)

  • Perform full choreography individually or as a group.

  • Offer constructive feedback emphasizing confidence and connection to the music.
